LA's what?

Wow oh, wow! Another day. Another interesting email from my dear ol’ pal. This time, the email read, “HAHA OMG! Front and center, baby!! Woooo!”

Again, I scrolled down to see what the fuss was all about and I saw this:

WHAT?!?! I couldn’t believe my eyes! Again, a bout of giggles hit me, I turned bright red and my jaw hit the floor. My oh, my. How did this actually happen?

Last week, I teased about winning this competition; but I didn’t honestly think I would be crowned! I mean seriously, I was pitted against some seriously gorgeous guys and gals. I am the winner? I am stunned. 

But to revel in the glory of it all, don’t mind if I pull a ‘lil Miss America - er, Miss Racked LA - on you. I’d like to say a few words…  

Thank you so much to all of you out there who supported & voted for me. I am beyond flattered that I was crowned Miss Racked LA Hottest Shopkeep 2011. This was all so unexpected and so shocking. I’d also like to say, thank you again to my dear admirer who anonymously nominated me and threw me into this contest. You are A.sweeT. heart.  I had no idea you liked me so much.

As for the rest of you reading? (Yeah, you.) Make sure you pop into the boutique and come ogle the goods. 

Focus, please. I am talking about the candy & clothes! They’re quite delicious. 

We love Paper Crown

Paper Crown may love you (so says their twitter handle - @PaperCrownLuvsu) but I think we just may love them more!  

This weekend, Paper Crown - the line designed and inspired by style icon Lauren Conrad- is set to hit stores. And, guess what? A.sweeT. is going to be amongst the first boutiques to welcome the collection. Let me tell you, we couldn’t be more thrilled about it!

Paper Crown is a mix of playful, chic sophistication. Most of the silhouettes are simple and classic; but what makes us swoon are the unexpected details and the extra thought that was put into the design to make the pieces really pop. Check out the buttons, the details on the stitching, and how the whole collection is just so cohesive.

Paper Crown is a line that was not manufactured to just get something out there just to sell. This is a line that has been well thought out, that can easily transition through the trends and seasons in your life, and that just plain has heart.

Feeling Hot, Hot, Hot!

Yesterday, I received a very interesting email. It was forwarded on to me from a pal who only wrote this, “haha omg!!!! amazing!!”

After reading that exclamation, I then scrolled down a little further in the email, and I saw this: 

Whoa. I was shocked. I giggled. I blushed. And, then I thought to myself, “Wow. I honestly, have no idea how this happened! How did I get thrown in this amazing mix?” I pondered for a moment, and then I thought, “Hmm. Who knows? But I’d better WIN!” 

(What? Don’t judge. I’m a competitive girl. I can’t help that I have a little spice mixed in with the sugar and everything nice.)

In all honesty - win or lose - I am 100%, genuinely, super duper flattered to have been chosen at all. Thank you to whomever it was out there at Racked Los Angeles who threw me in the mix for the “Hottest Shopkeep” in Los Angeles! I am still blushing.

As for you, dear reader? You better go vote for me. I promise you A.sweeT. reward in return.

Sweet & Sporty

Here comes the tomboy in me; but i just can’t help myself. Go Mavs!

Ok - so it has been short while since the Dallas Mavericks won their first NBA Championship title - but its never too late to celebrate; or for sweets to swoop in and save the day!

Upon winning the NBA Championship Title, Dallas Mavericks owner, Mark Cuban declared he may just forego ordering championship rings. What? Unheard of, eh? Well, thank goodness for the Bazooka Candy Co. Just for the Mavs, Bazooka decided to step up to the line and create blue & white bling pops made with real Swarovski Crystals. They thought the team just had to have something sweet to flash around in celebration.

We are agree. And, we think they are pretty darn cool. So, um, Bazooka? We will take some too please; but how about in pink, yellow, and blue … A.sweeT. Branded? Awesome. Thanks.

Candy Colored Tresses

I hate to admit; but I guess, sometimes blondes do have more fun. I’d love to temporarily pull a Lauren Conrad and dye my hair a few shades of candy color.  I am totally, 100%, digging this trend of candy colored tresses. But, alas, my locks are waaay too dark to pull it off. So, I will just need to stand back and admire from afar. Tell us… What do you think about this trend?

Brooklyn's Journey

“TO SAVE A LIFE IS TO SAVE THE WORLD”

This weekend, A.sweeT. was honored to be a part of a fun  and fabulous charity event that supports “Brooklyn’s Journey”, a fundraising effort to assist a family whose five month old baby suffers from a condition called Vein of Galen brain malformation.  After seeing pictures of the blue-eyed, smiley Brooklyn, we just could not wait to jump at the chance to help the Sputore Family who are in need of assistance with the specialized care that is required for Brooklyn to become a healthy little girl.

At the home of our very own A.sweeT. shoppers, Debbie & David Kaufman, we set up a delicious candy bar accompanied by our A.sweeT. Milk & Dark Chocolate bars, A.sweeT. mini bins & some of our favorite accessories! Family and friends of the Kaufman’s opened their hearts (and mouths) to purchase A.sweeT. bags of their favorite treats.  It’s always so great to see grown-ups turn into little kids at the sight of candy, but it was even better knowing that with each bite, Brooklyn’s journey would hopefully get a little easier. 

Of course we managed to find some time to get down on the dance floor and indulge in amazing Mexican food, but all for a wonderful cause!  We encourage you to learn about Vein of Galen brain malformation, get involved and share your heart and love to A.sweeT. little kid like Brooklyn. 

¡Estilo México!

So, if you follow me on Twitter, you know that I am currently in Mexico celebrating a milestone birthday. A little something I like to call it my “Doble Quinciñera.” You may also know that - um well - I have just a wee bit of packing problem. I may have just sliiightly over done it. But, I just couldn’t help myself. In addition to some of the gems that I have sitting at home in my closet, we also have so many incredible summer time treasures at A.sweeT.
